Episode 04: Prof. Ashley Cadby
Ash Cadby is a Professor of Soft Matter Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sheffield (https://ashleycadby.staff.shef.ac.uk/) and has a wealth of imaging experience in the field of biophysics.
Ash’s interests include microscopy and single-molecule biophysics, tune into this episode of Science Off Camera to hear about multi-modal microscopes and baby yoda!
My career path is a bit like a curry: it’s had lots of spices in small areas.
Research
The Cadby Lab sits at the core of the Bio Imaging centre, hosted within the Biophysics Research Group at the University of Sheffield, UK.
The group is known for the development of optical systems for biological imaging focusing on their application to real world problems, such as re-purposing existing technology to build better performing optical systems, or developing completely different systems.
